My son is not constipated since he does have 2-3 bowel movements in a day, however, a few of the times he seems to be applying too much pressure and is in a lot of pain as if he is trying to relieve himself without success. Is there any remedy for this?

A 16 year-old girl was recently murdered by her father in Canada. And apparently, her friends, school authorities, and youth shelter workers were aware that this girl was being abused by her father and brother.

And this makes me wonder. Why didn't anybody report this chilld abuse to the Social Services? Why was it allowed to escalate to murder? Is there any law which says that people working with children have to report child abuse, when they suspect it?

I just got a new baby kitten from the humane society- she is 13 weeks old but only 1.9 lbs. I brought her home to my other kitten who has been in the house alone with me for 2 months. She is only about 4 weeks older though but much bigger (maybe 5lbs now) and she keeps attacking the new one. The new one doesn't fight back much cuz she is so small but will ocassionally cry or whine a bit. My older kitten gets her in a head lock type move...just want to make sure that she won't hurt or kill her. Is it okay for her to bite this new one so much? I don't know if she is just proving that she was here first or what...I am just worried about the tiny kitten becuase she is so petite and underweight...any advice is helpful! Thanks

Okay, he had his leg removed from diabetes. I watched my grandpa go through the same thing with two legs years ago.

Anyways...my question is, what is the psychology behind my uncle being thirsty, and feeling the nurses are mistreating him?

My grandfather did the same thing. I am just wanting to know if this is common?

Thanks

Its now been 2 weeks without heat in a new place that I moved in. Its a new construction rehab building. The meters are all messed up and switched around. The gas company has been out 3 times and says that the meters are not labeled properly anymore and they cant turn on the gas. The building owner supposedly had marked the proper one but they came this morning and still could not get it on. Its freezing and my patience is gone, I want to take legal action now. Any advice on what my options are and who is at fault for this? Btw, this is in Chicago if that matters.

I celebrate Christmas, but it is more for my daughters. I don't want to rob them of all the presents they receive..... great reason, I know. However, I don't treat it as a religious holiday.... just a great time to help out others and give to those who don't have.
However, I do feel like I am forced to celebrate it by my family and society. If you don't celebrate Xmas people act like you just told them Hitler was your grandfather. They act like I am doing my children harm if I don't put up a tree and buy gifts for everyone I know.

Do any other Atheists feel forced to celebrate this holiday, or do you choose to do so willingly? Or do you simply choose not to celebrate it at all?
