My normal period came back pretty soon compared to all of you, 4 weeks. Was I ever disappointed.....And I'm totally jealous of the poster that answered 11 months!!! How nice to not have to deal with a period for that long!

With my first baby I was on depo-provera for birth control and I didn't have a period for almost two years. Second baby I breastfed and my period returned to normal when she was somewhere between six to eight months old.
One thing I have noted. Before children I never had PMS but did have irregular periods and horrible cramps. After children my periods are regular and the cramps are mostly gone but I definitely suffer from PMS now. Children do strange things to your body.

I got mine at 3/4 months post delivery. I was supplementing for the first three months. It took a long time for my period to become regular. Even now that it is regular it isn't the way it was before I had my baby. They are heavier and last longer. My daughter is now 15 months.

Well I bled for 5 weeks straight after the birth, but then my period came 3 weeks after that.

With my first, it came back 2 weeks after his second birthday. This time, he's nine months old and I'm happily period-free.
That's longer than average, even for a nursing mom, but well within the range of normal.

I got it right after my 6 week check up and it came regularly, but it was heavier than before I had my son.

It depends. If you breastfeed, you might not get a regular period until you stop. Has to do with all the hormones. My friends that didn't breastfeed told me a "regular" period took about 3 months on average.
