I saw the Yahoo headline that LSU's national title hopes are over, but I am not sure.
West Virginia has two decent games left and could easily lose one.
If the Big 12 South wins the Big 12 championship, they put forward a 2 loss OU or UT as the only Big 12 team that could possibly fit in the championship.
If either of these things happen, Ohio State gets into the national championship, but if both happen, Ohio State plays a 2 loss conference champion.
That could be LSU or Georgia from the SEC, USC or Oregon from the Pac-10, or OU or UT from the Big 12. I don't think Viriginia Tech would make it over LSU given the lopsided head to head matchup. I don't a 2 loss West Virginia or Texas has a strength of schedule or quality wins to compare. I don't think people will want to vote in Oregon with Dixon hurt unless they are absolutely amazing in his absense.
So, in this scenario i think the key players are Georgia, LSU, USC, and OU. Georgia and LSU should have the best strength of sched.
