I have a silver star made by my eldest son (37) and a snowman made from cotton wool and the inside cardboard of a toilet roll made by my youngest (35) when they were at nursery school. They come out every year and my sons always say not to use them, but I think they are really secretly pleased. They will never be thrown away.

Today I was to take the young man I take care of to have the sutures removed from surgery he had 2 weeks ago. His mom gave me the key to her car, since mine is out of commission. The problem wwas, the key didn't open the door, so a neighbor went to go get the thingy that unlocks the door from Maries work. The appointment was at 3 PM. it was then 2:25. so maybe enough time, then Brian was late getting back from the disability board. Finally, we are on our way! Yeah, then the car overheats. My cell phone battery is almost dead, we are now an hour late for the appointment, I am wearing wool. lined and I am told to turn the heat on in the car so the car doesn't overheat. Brian has the stitches removed, everything looks great and then I am told to taste what liquid is coming out of the car, is it sweet? The last time this was done, it was dog pee, so I am not about to venture into that catagory again.
Then I stand in a pile of red ants....so how was your day?

Well Dawg is in the News again...Now for the use of the "N" word.

What do you think? Is he a racist because he uses the word in context to his work? I mean he sees some of the worst in his business.

I have friends who are black that I highly admire. But today I went to the grocery store. When I cam out parked next to me was a car with three black men in it. Sitting on the white line of the parking space was an empty beer bottle. Glancing in the back seat sat one of the mean with his left arm leaning on a 24 pack of Bud Light bottles. Which to me made it obvious that he had darnk the bottle of beer. was drank by him as the bottle of was in the perfect spot for someone in the back seat to set the bottle on the white line. As they backed out of the spot I wondered if they realized how much that would make people consider them uncaring "N" word....

If I had seen this same behavior from a car of three white people I would have thought, "What White Trash they are."

What ....

Why is that do you think? OK i admit i am a smoker, but it's no coincidence that since the smoking ban came into effect in England on 1 July, their has been a decline in the pub industry.
It is now nearly Christmas not even 6 months down the road and their seems to be an abundance of pubs up for sale, to let or just borded up. and its not just pubs, bingo halls, bookies, indoor amusments have all seen a drop in trade and i would guess other businesses would be suffering too.

By the way i don't drink acohol, i dont go to the pub so why am i so bothered? because if i went to my local, unfortunatly i cant get in as it has closed down due to lack of custom.
Having spoken to a few ex landlords, they all seem to blame the same thing, The Smoking Ban.

So has anyone noticed the amount of Pubs that have closed or that are up to let?
Is it just coincidence?
Tell me your opinion?
Especially if you are a current or ex landlord.
