If you are eating lunch at work and your coworker comes up and asks you what you are eating..you tell them and then they say "Ewwwww! That is gross!"
Maybe I am too sensitive but I think that is incredibly rude.

It is one thing for someone to say in a conversation "I don't like ____..I think it's gross"..but to come up while you are in your own little cubicle and ask you what you are eating and then tell you it's nasty..I find that rude. I didn't ask for their opinion over here.

Yes, I do think it was very rude to act like this. Tell them that you do not need their opinion nor do you need their permission on what you should or should not eat. By the way, eggplant parmigiana is wonderful. I make it all the time! There is nothing "gross" about it.

In this case I will not say it is rude. Now if the person just ran up on you and proceeded with the "ewwwww" comment then I would say it was rude and uncalled for
HOWEVER
when the person ASKED you what you were eating and you RESPONDED.....you opened yourself up for any comment that person would make - unfortunately that invites good and bad.

It was profoundly rude. There is just no need for someone to be that caustic and obnoxious.
I don't know why so many people have no semblance of civility or manners.
Anyway, if it happens again, do as Miss Manners would do -- look at them with an "I can't believe you said that" expression and then reply, "Well, I suppose I won't offer you any" as you resume eating and ignore them.

Yeah, that's rude. It's not too bad but it is definitely inconsiderate.
I happen to really like eggplant parmigiana myself.

So, if this person is gonna act childish with the " Ewwww...." comment, do the " Do you like Seafood?" comment back and stick out your tongue. That might stop them from talking smack about your Eggplant Parmigiana.

That is a bit rude. Depending on how loud or forceful they said ew. If they just kinda said ew that's still kinda rude, but they may have been kidding.
If they said EWWWWWWW! really loud and kinda made a big deal about, I'd consider them completely rude. But I don't view you as sensitive, just don't let it get to you. Just keep on eating what you're eating. :)

It's borderline rude..... I say shrug your shoulders and tell them it's a good thing they're not the ones eating it, huh? hahaha Try to see the humor in it instead of being too sensitive.

it is rude when they talk about what you are eating. when i seat down with my friends to eat they always make comments. because i like to mix my food up with something that they feel is gross, so i always show them when I'm chewing in my mouth. so they know now not to say anything when i mix my food or they are going to get it. your not too sensitive your being yourself.

Yes, that is very rude. Some people just don't have any sense of etiquette. I would suggest, next time, put up a do not bother me sign, while on lunch.
God Bless.

It depends on what you are eating, some people are grossed out by what other people eat. It is kind of rude though.
