Well Dawg is in the News again...Now for the use of the "N" word.
What do you think? Is he a racist because he uses the word in context to his work? I mean he sees some of the worst in his business.
I have friends who are black that I highly admire. But today I went to the grocery store. When I cam out parked next to me was a car with three black men in it. Sitting on the white line of the parking space was an empty beer bottle. Glancing in the back seat sat one of the mean with his left arm leaning on a 24 pack of Bud Light bottles. Which to me made it obvious that he had darnk the bottle of beer. was drank by him as the bottle of was in the perfect spot for someone in the back seat to set the bottle on the white line. As they backed out of the spot I wondered if they realized how much that would make people consider them uncaring "N" word....
If I had seen this same behavior from a car of three white people I would have thought, "What White Trash they are."
What ....

... divides the line? A white person calling unacceptable behavior from a Caucasian, white trash.... and one calling unacceptable behavior the "N" word. Is there really a difference?
Anymore it's about acceptable or unacceptable behavior. Or is better to lump them into one group and just call them "Trash."
The type of behavior I am referring to is Minor I know.... but it's still unacceptable.

I didn't now verbally say anything to anyone other than to point out the bottle left by the obvious person....
I would like to additionally ask anyone responding to this question can you "Honestly" say you have not used a racially or circumstantially epitaph against a segment of society... because of their behavior... not because of they ethniciticy?

I have listened to what was released on FOX and to me it's taken out of context.... At least what is released....
This is the part of the media that troubles me.... someone says something, but the press releases just one part of it and it becomes out of context of the whole situation...
As in giving my senario above. That was the entire situation. I would have been just as upset if it had been a Caucasian, Hispanic, or Tibetian. If one does not want the negative attention of "Words" They should and need to be act in a postive above reproach attitude.

Honestly, I have heard the tape and I don't really get it, I do not understand because if you listen to it, he doesn't flat out call anyone the n word, he is saying that he is not going to risk his career or family , by calling her a n word. Maybe I didn't listen right but that is what I heard. If there are more tapes and I didn't hear the "one" then I don't know. My opinion is its is not a good thing to be racist and filled with hate for someone you know or do not know because of race, but we do live in a free country and you are free to think whatever you want, and say "almost " whatever, look at the case against the church who protests our fallen troops. It is wise to, " if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all !" update * honestly, yeah I have made slurs, but not directed towards a race just at an A HOLE being an A HOLE.I think EVERYONE does it wether they want to admit to it or not. Saying racial remarks is old now, getting all bent out of shape about it is old also. Isn't there more important things we could be doing then stirring the pot about dog and the n word ? I mean he said he was sorry right okay thats all that can be done so get over it people. Did he assualt anyone no, have you ever been called a bi*t*h ? those that have did you alert the media and call the radio shows ? Probably not right so what is the freakin prob ? It s over now get on with your life . Queen * this is not directed at you , or anyone else personally it is just put out there for the persons being obsess'd about the whole thing.

And one of my favorite aphorims is: "it's better to be a N, than poor white trash".
But, I agree with you that it was trashy and they were black men. And that it makes no difference (even if they were purple with pink polka dots) trashy is trashy.
I posted elsewhere: since when did the N word become blasphemy !!! It is absurd that our prime time tv shows can be as filthy as they are; while using the N word is tantamount to egregious sin !!! Crazy !!
And, of course, we all know where it came from: ophrah winfrey went on a crusade against that poor white trash cop...and made a big deal out of the N word; while celebrating that a murderer was acquitted.
Signed: the honk y...or is that honkie....??? Someone tell me how to spell my epithet. Thank you. It's a word for crying out loud, it only has power and meaning if 'the herd' can be brainwashed into believing it has power.

I think many of us have observed the scenario you describe. We have even seen it with White and Hispanic men in cars. While no matter who we see in that situation, it is always disconcerting. The presence of alcohol and people who may think that they have not gotten a fair break creates a potentially volatile mixture.
However, no matter how much the problem awakens a sense of fear in us, it is not race based and should not be addressed as such particularly by the use of the "N" word. Mr. Chapman's comments to his son were inexcusable, given the difficult population that he works within. "Within" meaning that the people that he relies on to assist him (informants) are not likely to take lightly to his comments either. Therefore, his business (on TV or not) will likely be affected.
Finally, I would ask you to consider this, when you refer top the white men engaging in the same behavior as the black men and see them as "white trash". Aren't they the equivalent of the black men, only white.
So, you could also say that one might differentiate between them as black N's and white N's, either way doing the men and themselves a disservice.

lets get to the real problem here criminal. You allowed them to violate the law by littering and since you did nothing to stop it or report it you are guilty as well.
I don't believe that use of language makes a person a racist though it doesn't help. Their actions and behaviors speak louder anyhow. Also the use of certain words comes easily when a person is angry because we know those words hurt and cause a response in the target. A person may not be racist or sexist or religiously intolerant but still use those words because they intend to emotionally hurt a specific individual and they know that those words will do it. All in all we just have to stop being jack...um....donkeys...... to one another and just live our lives.

Ah the mighty N' word debate...
Why are we all so terrified of this word?
Isn't calling a white person "White Trash" the same meaning?
Trash is trash.
You would think by now that everyone would understand this.

You hit the nail on the head.
It is not so much about skin color as it is attitude. Most people don't like people with an attitude. It's all about them you know.
