I am a Christian and I see a lot of generalizing and wrong presumptions made about us like that we think science is evil and of the devil. lol That's funny. But mostly I'm talking about the Muslims. Why do so many of us Americans think that they are all terrorists? Most Muslims denounce the extremists. Yes it is written in their Quran to kill infidels but I was told that that was only meant for people of the distant past. And we ourselves have similar scriptures in our bible where God commanded the Israelites to destroy the cities of non-believers which were also only meant for the people of that time. I'm not saying I agree with the Muslim religion but I am just saying that it must be hard for Muslims living in our country to be hated for something they didn't do or even agree with.

While radiator removed for decorating, valve started dribbling from its opening (no reason, as had been OK for days).
I went to B&Q to get a suitable brass blanking cap and screwed this in place with 4-5 turns PFTE tape (correct direction on male thread), but it's still dribbling, especially when I repressurise hot water system (which I obviously need).
Do I need to repeat with MORE turns of PFTE tape or try something else? (I know I will have to strip off this PFTE tape when i unscrew the cap)

Hi all...some of you may have been floowing my posts lately - but I said I'd keep you all updated. For those of you who don't know..my wife had 2 miscarriages this year - last one in July (21st)...she didn't have a period since and we found out a few weeks back that she is pregnant again...she's been pretty sick as past 2 weeks and had a slight bit of spotting yesterday (just the once, and none since)...today we were due to have a scan..we did....and she's 7 weeks and 5 days! (we thought she was 6 weeks and 3 days)..and we heard the heartbeat!! Both the doc and the nurse said it was a good strong heartbeat and everything looked good...as for the spotting...he told us that it sometimes happens and everything looks v.good! We are so delighted - can't stop smiling! He advised us to avoid sex until after the 12 weeks and for my wife to relax+do nothing strenuous..I hope this is a good sign, now that we've heard a heartbeat! When does that make her due?

so I test drove a 1988 BMW and i was wondering if it is normal to have to pump the gas to start a car that is older. After you start it, it runs fine. If not what could the problem be and expense to fix. Basically should I buy this car?

Having heard the story about Nebraska State Senator Ernie Chambers and his lawsuit against God this morning, I have to applaud him and his reasoning for this lawsuit. There ARE way too many frivolous lawsuits in this country. Take for example, the woman who sued a fast food chain because she was stupid and placed a cup of hot coffee between her legs and burned herself. Shame on the judge who heard this case! Also, people suing cigarette companies. Hello! The dangers of smoking have been common knowledge for well over 25 years, so anyone who picks up the dirty habit nowadays, has absolutley no excuse.
Can anyone else think of other frivolous lawsuits?

Not of the biblical sort, mind you, but that had enough vision to foretell the future through their lyrics, and that they were largely correct.

Ok, So I put an offer for a bank owned home. They were asking $133,000, I submitted an offer for $105,000. They cam back and countered the offer at $132,000 ($1,000 less than asking price). The home has been on the market since April.2007 and was listed then at $139,000.

Why would the bank come back with a counter offer of $1,000 less than the asking price? (Because I put in such a low starting offer?)

What should my next counter offer be? (Please give me your opinion)

The home needs a new roof within a year, needs to be converted to copper plumbing, yard needs to be relevels and drains put in as all the neighbors yards slope to this homes yard.

I've been visiting this R&S section for 1.5 years now. On and off. More off than on lately. I'm an atheist, with an outspoken opinion of my own.

In all the time I visited this section, I've constantly seen "atheistic gods". There has been a Mayor, a King, a Cookie Goddess, and I've probably missed a few atheists that have been worshipped like gods.

My main problem is that they actually are treated like gods. People thumb up any opinion the "atheist gods" have, no matter how ridiculous that opinion sometimes is.

I know it's all an innocent game. But yet, it annoys me a bit. When atheists start to act like sheeple and follow a leader, it gets harder and harder for the respectful atheist opinion to be heard.

Am I the only atheist who has the feeling that many non-atheists see atheists as a homogenous group because a group of atheists plays 'follow the leader' all the time?
