Personally, I prefer facts. I feel there is a certain comfort that comes with knowing I can prove a fact wrong (assuming I'm smart enough), whereas with faith, I can only disagree with it, but never completely disprove it. That feels dangerous to me.

i have heard answers like god was always here but if you can believe that why is it so hard to believe that the universe was always here? or god made himself which doesn't make sense because if you don't exist you cant make anything especially not yourself.

Picture the corner of a room. Imagine the corner of a room. Let's say that the left wall leading into the corner is labeled 1, the corner itself is labeled 2, and the right wall leading from the corner 3 (I hate that I can't draw here!). O.K., a cat runs across the floor from 1 to 2 to 3 without increasing or decreasing his speed. He only changes his direction of motion at 2 (the corner). Can we say for sure that a force was exerted on the cat at 2?

a) Yes, there had to be a force on the cat at 2.
b) Not necessarily, since no change in the cat's speed occurred.

Once again the democrats have shown they dont play this political game as well as the republicans do.

For the past 2 days the attention has been shifted to attacking general betrayus's credibility, rather than all the falicies he exasterbated in his report.

What Moveon.Org should do is take out another Full Page add,showing exactly all the inconsistencies with General Betray us's report.
Detail it all Line by line, and bring the attention right back to the issues -- rather than where the republicans have taken it...completely off the true facts they are fighting to put a cloud over.

If the dems cant do it...Moveon.Org should!!!

Well the president is athe president of the U.S.....Dick Chenney is the V.P.
and they are not at all credible.

I don't have any thorned plants handy, and I'm just wondering - when you remove the thorn, what does the other side look like? Is it flat and smooth, or hooked into the plant somehow? I'm doing an organic graffiti type drawing.. anyways, I can't find any photos. Descriptions or photos would be appreciated.

All of the tips of my Madagascar Dragontree are brown. I live in an apartment that doesn't get direct sunlight and the plant sits next to a window. I repotted the plant using 6 month release fertilized soil. I water (one full cup) once a week. The plant is in a 10" pot and the plant is about 2 feet tall.

Do you think you can prove that the tooth fairy does not exist?
Maybe The point will come to the surface that YOU CAN NOT PROOVE A NEGATIVE FACT. If you go to a gambling table prepared to prove the tooth fairy does not exist. You will come home BROKE.
Not that you could prove the existence of same either.
I hope I did not offend any of you non believers in the tooth fairy.

I guess that I will keep any debate I may have for subjects like God or no God to blogs where people think first with their head then with there heart. To think first with your heart will generate an emotional response. When the question was clearly wanting a response from the head first.

It is a very old philosophical dispute to say that to bet on a negative fact is a fools errand. This thought is applied to the concept of Atheism as an Atheist is one who denies the existence of God.
