When air traffic control in LA bogged down, it was due to "computer glitch" which not only disrupted operation but placed public safety at risk. Similar problems happen in banking, and commerce, and even government. The vulnerability of computers is such that when they malfunction, everything else go haywire. When I was in the Navy, we had fifteen different ways that we could stir the ship just in case we lose primary steering. Can't the industry install "standby" systems so that disruptions can be minimized during a main computer malfunction?

We hate each other. Soon enough that hatred is going to explode. I'd like half of America to be Liberal and the other Conservative. I'm Independent myself.

Not gonna happen I know but still I like to dream big.

I had an odd dream the other night, where I married my boyfriend. We went through the ceremony, and were at the reception, where he basically disappeared. I couldn't find him anywhere, and had to sit at the head table alone. He wasn't there for the cake cutting, or the first toast, or anything. We didn't even get our dance. I even remember some nameless person sitting in his seat, where I had to boot them out. And they even had the nerve to give me a dirty look. I saw my boyfriend once or twice, talking to his friends and drinking and smoking his cigarettes, but he was oblivious to the fact that he was to be more active than he was. It was a pretty disturbing dream. Any ideas?

I need to ask my mom a VERY important question....you see, I'm in 7th grade, I've been public schooled for K, 1st, and 4th grades, the rest of the time I have been home-schooled. i HATE homeschooling! I felt much better as a public schooler. so I wanted to ask my mom if I could transfer to my public junior high sometime this year. Thing is, my mom has this thing about that being public schooled is not an option till high school. But I want to be with my friends and have a middle school experience. how do I bring up the subject and ask? plus is it ok to transfer during the school year in Knoxville,TN? PLEASE HELP ME!! I NEED an great and do able answer before the end of September.......preferably. Thanks to all who give good answers, this would mean SOOO much to me if I could transfer. more than you can imagine. Thanks.

Yesterday, I hit this lady on the back of her car. There was minor plastic scratches (because my car's front bumper is plastic) and 3 tiny holes (which I don't know where those came from because I dont have anything sticking out of my front bumper), and there was no dents involved. I'm going to meet up with her one day and go with her to the collision shop and get an estimate, but I want to get an idea of how much it's going to cost me because I'm just going to pay out of pocket cash.

Certainly there are critics and proponents from both sides, but doesn't it seem more like a catch 22? Obviously one side will not be appeased with the decision to either stay or go.

While I would assume most Americans want the troops brought home, and I certainly do, there are too many adverse effects that would equate to an unstable government.
Then pro-war activists will claim it's a success. I agree to an extent that it is, but longterm occupation obviously is not going to work either.

How do YOU choose whether to stay or go?
