English is my second language, and I have a question about English idiom.

Is there any rule about when it is correct to speak of "putting on" clothes or "getting into" clothes?

I thought it should always be "putting on", but I have heard people use the expressions "get into a dress", "get into a swimsuit". Google also turns up a lot of matches for these. Indeed, there are more matches for "get into a dress" than "put on a dress".

I thought "get into" was for beds and cars and "put on" for clothes. Obviously "put on" is incorrect for beds and cars, but "get into" can be correct for clothes. But not all clothes: friends tell me you can say "get into a swimsuit" and "get into a dress" but not "get into a jacket".

I would like to know if there is any rule behind all this. Are there any suggestions? Are there different situations where one should use the different expressions?

My mom washed a cast-iron pan we just got with soap and water. The next morning there was this funky orange residue left on the bottom of the pan. What is the proper way to wash a pan? And is it okay to use soap in the future, since not using it grosses me out? :D thanks

I have hereditary dark circles and I hate them.
I'm looking for a good product that will help get rid of them.
Keep in mind: I don't use any foundation because my face is acne free without really having to wash it, so like if I were to get some sort of concealer for them, it has to blend in well.

If not concealer, then just some sort of cream that may get rid of the circles. I don't really know what's out there, what works, etc. So yeah, I need help with getting a product.

One that isn't super expensive and actually works.
It doesn't have to be dirt cheap and not work that well.
Just not like $300, even if it works like magic.

Thanks (:

My brother is currently in jail on several charges and he declares his innonence. He has been locked up since March, had three prelimary's, and a line up. He was not identified inthe line up and the person involved even said it wasn't him.

He is having a problem getting his BILL OF DISCOVERY and is on his way to yet another (his fifth in fact) arraignment. They keep postponing it because they do not have this information.

Please explain what a bill of discovery is, and also please explain if this is against the law what the Philadelphia court system is doing.

As far as I know the BOD is evidence against him, and that is something that he OR his Public Defender should have.

Why hasn't he gotten it? Can they give you five arraignments?

Since the women mostly seem to be bald there? I'm confused at this concept of guys who say they like thier women not shaved, and yet they like to look at women who are shaved there, and get turned on watching/seeing it.....

Honestly. If your reasons are because animals should not be killed, then its kinda pointless. They will be killed and processed anyways, and if a few thousand people in the world dont eat them then no big loss. They were born to be eaten, its the food chain people!

Or do you just not like meat? I can understand that, but everyone likes meat so it kinda makes me wonder lol

Or you have another reason?

We have an executed contract & now owe the bank money for appraisal & flood certification. The seller can't produce a clear title and we can't close, since they have breached contract can we legally make them pay the bank or is this something we have to pay. Now we are looking for another house & will have to pay for an appraisal & flood certification fee when we close on it.
