I have posted two. You can read them (click on my avatar and then go to my questions) and reply as they are still open and I need more responses please. This is my last one and I ask it here because this category gets more responses than any other. Here's the question:

Do you think it is just human nature to blame the victim when we feel helpless about a situation, or is it that we are so over burdened with social issues that we offer answers that blame the victim because we are not informed enough about the nature of the problem?

I ask because I can't believe we are as hard hearted as the responses I got to my questions. I asked if there were legislative efforts to end homelessness that I could support. No one answered that question. Everyone just explained why people are homeless (offering welfare, addictions, choice. DUH.) Maybe they didn't understand? I'm a devout atheist. I acknowledge this; I absolutely refuse to believe in God or any other holy entity. (I used to believe, but certain things in life made me lose faith... well, thats another story)
I strongly disagree with trying to insult people who have different opinions (everybody is entitled to their own beliefs). However, I love discussing it, and sharing viewpoints. I friendly debate, if you will ^^
So, my question is:
To. atheists: why do you reject god? (please don;t give a simplistic reply such as "because there is no god!")
To. religious people: how do you justify your beliefs from the arguments of atheists? or what makes you believe in God?

Please, lets refrain from completely disregarding others' opinions. If we MUST argue, why not do it in a friendly debate?

Why is it that america is paying billions upon billions - to investigate space (at the expense of healthcare and about a million other public services) and yet as soon as OUR industries turn a profit for america (in mining gold etc), these industries will become privatised and taken out of americans hands.

They won't even have to pay tax!!!

I want to become a Bible class teacher for a public high school. In my state, they are seriously considering offering these classes as an elective in the future. What would I need to major and minor in? I was thinking of probably majoring in Religion and minoring in Education. Is that right? Also, what type of Education exactly would I minor in? Does it even matter? All the college sites I have looked at only have subject-specific courses such as Science Education or Early Childhood Education.
