i'm pretty young so sorry if its a dumb question, but exactly why is a social security card so important? i need it for just about everything - job, school, license, etc.....but i don't know why it is so important.
QUESTIONS:
1.) i remember having that blue card for as long as I can remember. exactly why do i have that card, considering that I had to take a test for my driver's license. why not a test for the ssn card? where exactly did I get that card from?
2.) do I have special privileges with that card? in other words -- what can I do with that card that others without it can't? what does that card allow me to do? if I didn't have the card -- would I be screwed?
3.) i heard something about seniors collecting "social security" later in their lives. does the seniors "social security" have anything to do with that little blue card? or am I mistaken?
is there anything else I need to know about the blue card? is it good? bad? my ticket to freedom? thanks in advance......
