ok guys im turning 14 in like 3 months and i just dont know what i want for my birthday i already have a (360, mp3 player, cell phone, and a laptop big tv all of its nice so i dont need an upgrade) and i have a small yard so theres no room to ride a 4-wheeler or dirtbike so anyideas of what i can ask for thanks

I need to pick a topic for my argumentation paper. It has to be something that I feels needs to be changed for the better. Abortion, gun control, gay rights, and legalization of marijuana cannot be used. He used the example of what can be changed to make being a student better. That quickly went south. I can't think of anything!

welfare and other government programs since Johnson's great society have done nothing statistically to solve poverty, and if anything those areas are much worse off with drugs and violence instead of jobs and families.
Conservatives statistically give much more to charity (read: Who really cares? the Surprising Truth about Compassionate Conservatives written by Arthur Brooks, Prof Syracuse U). They believe in helping people help themselves, yet Liberals accuse them of hating the poor.

I have no objections to homosexuality but whenever I hear people speak about homosexuality being right or wrong, these conversations are always oriented towards sexual acts and not love. A lot of justification for homosexuality being wrong revolves around "flawed biology" and or "flawed psychology" that influences a person to commit lustful acts with people of their own gender. These "theories" then go on to explain how this is counter productive to society properly functioning. I look at these kind of statements and wonder, Where's the love? These 'theories" are completely detached from the concept of love, which I think is pretty important for society to function. People have lustful relationships that are devoid of love and commitment, this is destructive.

So for the Hypothetical reason that I need convincing, would people share some convincing evidence that homosexuals can be in loving committed relationships just as heterosexuals can?

I think homophobic people need to see this.

I like a lot of Christians are ingorant to the way Atheists believe. My son wants to be a "REAL" Auto mechanic, and I have no idea what route to take. By real I mean someone who can work on high end autos (BMW, Etc) He just started high school and they have no automotive program.I dont want him to go to a fly-by-night tech school and end up doing brake jobs and oil changes. He used to have imaginary friends when he was smaller too. If I am in another room I hear him talking and its like he's got someone else in there and he's talking to them. He has been tested and denied at having ad/hd. His teacher say he gets bored easily and think that he acts like the class clowwn becasue the work is not challenging him enough mentally. He doesn't have any mental problems but I'd like to know why he does this and does anyone else's kid do this? Will he grow out of that at one point? Should I get a second opinion?
