Do you think we could purchase some politicians and thereby own our own government? Maybe get true representation? What do you think? Would you be willing to donate?

No plan is perfect..but I figure if every American gave say $5 I think we could get the ball rolling!

True enough about the money handlers...we need someone we could trust. *sigh*

Everyone complains about the corporations owning the government, I thought it would be a good way to fight back. We would at least force the corporations to give MORE money to out do us and maybe stimulate the economy a little more. Maybe let the politicians know we are here and paying attention to them even if they aren't paying attention to us.

Buzz, you have a wonderful point. I personally do not want a politician I have to buy. It just feels sometimes like the average person just doesn't have many options anymore.

I think a better approach would be for all the American citizens to get out our guns and have national gun practice day...just shooting targets and conducting seminars on safe gun practices and such.....the specter of millions of people out practicing and learning would give them the chills I'm sure......

Great idea, and when we get them in the motel room where we are going to transfer money or they agree to vote a certain way for us, we can have the FBI pop in and put the sucker in jail.

So we keep doing it over and over.

So how many of the 550 people would go to jail for money?

We would not have to spend the money and could put it to use say retiring the debt, or funding the money the democrats stole from SSI.

So lets have everyone check off a mandatory $5 contribution on the tax return, that should be enough to get all of them to fall, it would be better than term limits, they could be inmates together, you know helping each other out in prison.

btw, you ask very nice questions for someone with such a dark avatar, but I do like a nice black cloak

I always thought Voting would do just that. But not enough are showing up. And it's a real shame! I can't go with this notion! Simply because I think it goes against what This Nation was founded on. If we could get it back to how it's suppose to be run. And that is gonna take a majority of people showing up at Election Time.

because so many people would haveto participate to raise enough funds to buy a politician there still would be dissent in the group and therefore conflicting ideas. Then it would be an argument if vcertain parties gave more funds than others should they have the majority vote,... wait sounds like it is already this way. How much does a politician gpo for nowadays? i bet about $150,000 would buy you an OK one.

I would be all on board with that idea... but just who is going to be in charge of such large quantities of money. Greed corrupts people and politicians always seem to be in the underground behind most "fund raisers" that are held now.

The big business lobbies are the ones that represent the insurance companies and the oil companies. So, unless we had several billion dollars and were able to raise that amount each year we are are not going to be heard and will get no where.

I have been saying we need another Boston Tea Party.Tired of 37% of my taxes going to the drunken ,drug addicted congressman, senators to support their high and mighty butts. We still have a fairly decent govt, better than alot of countries, but we are losing our voices.

Just send me a money order for $100.00 and I'll send you a check for $1000.00. Isn't this the kind of return I get when I pay taxes?

This is already being done. Many organizations exist to push specific political agendas (pro-death, anti-choice, gay marriage, racial preference, etc), and they collect money to do so.
