I did a test this morning and one VERY faint pink line came up. So faint that I had to get my partner to check he could see it also which he could. As I only had one test I decided to buy another pack on the way to work from Boots but this second test did nothing to confirm if I was pregnant as a line didn't appear in the right window to confirm the test had worked. Just a horizontal line in the 'pregnant ' window appeared but according to the instructions if I was pregnant there should be a cross and not just one line. Am so confused - do you think I could be pregnant? I am due today so maybe I have tested too early? Any help appreciated!

I have recently began taking metformin extended release. I have PCOS and TTC for over a year but having not always so safe sex with my husband for five years and no babies. I started the Metformin and my doctor warned me it might make me nauseous and things like that but I was fine. The only difference I saw was for about the first week to week and a half I was no fun to be around at all. I was so irratable all the time! All I did was stay mad at my husband. This feeling is gone now thank goodness but I just wondered if anyone else has had this problem? I go in for a test on thursday so I will metion it to my doctor I just wondered if I was the onlly one that this has happened to though?

I have a son who is 13 years old who lives with his father. I have been made to believe by my ex husband's 2nd wife (the one after me) the my ex husband emotionally abuses my son. I was told that my ex refers to me as "the evil *****" instead of my son's mother, and that he yells at my son constantly. In fact, my ex's ex wife told me that while she and my ex were married, my ex drilled into my son's head that I am not his biological mother, that the step mother was. This among many other things makes me want to take custody of my son but I am afraid that my son is so brainwashed by this man that he may not see what is wrong with the living situation and he may tell the courts he wants to stay with my ex. I don't know what to do. Anyone ever been in a similar situation or have any ideas?

With all apologies to gay people everywhere, I don't mean to offend. One of my coworkers came in and asked me what I was listening to. I replied "Norah Jones". He said, "That's pretty gay. I bought that for my WIFE."

My baby is 4 days old and is my wife and I's first child so we are not sure exactly what we should be expecting.

I read that newborns will sleep 17 to 20 hours a day. My baby seems to want to sleep his hours during the day and stay up from midnight to 6 or 7am.

So I guess I have 2 questions. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to start changing the baby's schedule?

Not looking for reactive responses, nor am I aiming to make people angry. I repect all points of view and this is just something I've been wondering about.

I'm asking this, because I was recently reading the definition of the scientific method in a science textbook, and part of this describes this method as "test with experiments". Since you can't test, or observe, cross-species evolution in an experiment, would that then make large-scale cross-species evolution only theory, and not science?

I understand that mutations and small-scale evolution can be observed (such as changes in fruit flies, moths, etc.) but the changes of one species into another can't be observed or recreated in experiments. Would this then render evolutionary as a theory unable to be verified by the scientific method?

Again, no reactive responses please. I'm just interested in learning.
