If you were living quite basically, just beaching it every day, camping and sleeping in a van, going out for the occasional drink and eating basic food, no big fancy meals.

my parents live on AU$2,000 a month, and that is mum, dad, and my younger sister. They have paid off their mortgage, but they still have to pay all their utilities, and food, and general living costs.

They are not living the high life, they are really frugal, but they seem to get by ok.

They were telling me that they eat a lot less meat than they used to, simply because the drought has made meat really really expensive.

So, go vegie, keep it simple and you should be fine.

You're pushing it, but it depends on what you want to do.

I mean a pub meal may cost you over $10 - $15 and its like $2.50 for a bottle of coke. A bottled drink is usually like $5 (sorry not a beer drinker) at a bar. So depends.

You will be very poor and it will definitely limit what you do. However I'v been poor in london and lived on practically nothing and done it so why can't you!

Anything is possible, especially if you're not going to pay for accomodation!

My advice try for $1500.

Good luck

Should be possible, is staying in hostels sometime they get deals with pubs and clubs for cheap for and drinks.
The supermarket is reasonable priced for for and drink. Or there is Red Dot or cheap shops to buy things like toothpaste,bo and other stuff. You can do so go for it and good luck

You'd be pushing it although it is more than the dole and some people manage to exist on that.
