Whenever I listen to Norah Jones, I think about leisurely sex.
I think about going to a jazz bar with my favorite squeeze, and then going home and enjoying each other.
I don't think listening to Norah Jones should constitute what your sexuality is. If anything, it makes you sexy in my eyes (and ears), because I think her music is sexy.
I think that using those words, "That's pretty gay..." at work is walking a thin line. It could be construed by some to be harrassment/offensive.
By my standards if anyone uses the word "gay" to mean something 'outside the norm' or 'weird' or 'abnormal,' I find their words to be repugnant.
That's my take.
Norah Jones=sexy
Calling something "gay" in the derogatory=RUDE.

Absolutely! I love Norah Jones... I think she has an incredible voice; very calm, soothing and relaxing I think. If people think you're gay, then they obviously are not as secure in their masculinity as you are. Now, listening to her on a ghetto-blaster and walking around town with Norah Jones blaring from the speakers isn't gay, but it's quite freakish. I wouldn't advise that you do that.
If you like her music, listen away!

Norah Jones is Ravi Shankar's daughter, or one of them...it most certainly is not gay.....get a grip whomever feels that way... I know a LOT of people in the music industry...and I have a very famous Rock & Roll cousin...now does anyone get chastized for listening to Stevie Nicks? I mean is that gay? I dont care for Fleetwood mac and no one said that i have to....but I think that norah is a natural and i applaud her....try katie melua from the UK...she is great and i know many guys who listen to her....comeon people...if it isnt oozing testoserone, you think it is gay? get a grip.

RE:
Can a guy listen to Norah Jones and not be thought of as "Gay?"?
With all apologies to gay people everywhere, I don't mean to offend. One of my coworkers came in and asked me what I was listening to. I replied "Norah Jones". He said, "That's pretty gay. I bought that for my WIFE."
I find her voice to be soothing when I'm...

I think people should listen to whom they wish and not worry about it. I LOVE Nora Jones voice, and I'M NOT GAY. No, I don't use Yahoo! Answers for self-validation. I only answer questions. Interesting perspective however.

Norah Jones is gay. I mean good for you and your courage but really if you don't want people to think you are gay then don't act gay. You see, it's not about how you see yourself, it's how other people perceive you. Especially in today's world.

It's great music. If your co-worker can't hear that, he ain't really listening.
He's scared of his own femininity. He just might have more gay thoughts than the average man. His macho attitude is really fear.

i think that music transcends sexuality, your coworker is a narrow minded self hating homophobe. listen to whomever you like and don't worry what others think. besides his wife will probably leave him for a more understanding woman soon anyway!
