File Collaboration between 2 Windows XP Computers.?

I have 2 Win XP Professional PCs in my office. Let's call them PC-A & PC-B.

PC-A has a directory that contains lots of Excel files. This directory is shared via windows file sharing. The problem occurs is that when PC-A & PC-B opens the same file at the same time, to make changes, the earlier updates will be lost.

For example When PC-A opens FileX and PC-B opens File-X too. PC-A now updates FileX and PC-B updates FileX too. PC-A saves the file followed by PC-B. The updates by PC-A will be lost.

How do I solve this? What I am looking for is probably a locking mechanism such that when PC-A opens the file, it will be locked & access to that file is denied.

Do suggest any other alternatives if there is a better(and hopefully cheap) solution to this problem or windows file sharing. As both PCs are used by non-IT guys, I'm looking for a easy to use solution.

Both PCs are on the same LAN.

Who on earth are we to snarl at the behaviour of Italian football fans...are we not forgetting summat?

Just read a question with someone squealing, ending with 'and we think our fans are bad' - can remember a few years ago, when British books about footy hooliganism came out...and as usual, authors who we had never heard of jumped on the bandwagon - with some of these books being turned into films, which many went to see (I suspect students going there to observe the 'sociological set-up' of the main characters thereof were few). Noticed something about football fans over the years...even from my native Norwich - they can kick rear in the easy countries, where governments and peoples are fair and less chippy, but come Germany - and yes, even Italy...they meet their match (polizia, rather than fans), and when they get sore heads and thrown into cells, they return home eager to run to The Sun and tell us how 'paranoid and violent' the authorities were.
That's summat the rear-kicking authors didn't tell them about!

If there is nearly a blizzard, do you insist on out of towners traveling?

If your ex-spouse lived 60 miles away, would you expect him/her to travel in blizzard-like conditions for visitation? Keep in mind, that the trip also requires for your child to be taken, in extremly bad weather, 60 miles back down to parents home. Errrrrr, I am mad because my son was expected to do so. I told my son that I would rather he did not make the drive and the grandson's mother got upset and got my grandson mad at his dad and me. I am mmmaaaaddd.

How to store datetime in SQL Server 2000 using VB 6.0?

Kindly explain to me how to store datetime in SQL Server 2000 using Visual Basic 6.0.... right now im using 2 fields (date and time) instead of 1 field only. I tried to combine date and time to store in SQL Server but there's always an error. Examples is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
