An online physics text after several editions consists of a page of erroneous facts regarding the kinetic energy theorem. These errors where discussed on this site and were resolved in the authors disfavor.

In summary He asserts
1. In kinetic energy theorem K=1/2mv^2, the 1/2 is an arbitrary constant whose value is dependent on the unit system used. Under the metric system the constant is 1/2. The metric system was used to make the kinetic energy equation more managable at
the expense of other formulas.
2. the equation cannot be derived from principle but must be experimently determined.

RESOVLED-The THEOREM is mathematically derived. The 1/2 constant is independent of units.

I emailed him and unprosumptiously pointed out the error. However, he still asserts he is correct using arguments that rely on his initial error.

I want to give up because I don't think he will listen, but it bugs me that other students will be learning incorrect information.Should I pursue it further?

Have a rubbish printer at the moment ($60 job). Want to be able to print convincing cd labels. Need to look good. What do I need hardware/software wise?

After recommendations on printers, CD application kits etc. Just want to be able to produce a CD label indistinguishable from the real thing (don't worry its all harmless, just my music collection!)

Can I achieve this for under £100 ($196)?

so theres this guy, the last time i saw him was like a year ago and i've changed[looks wise-for the better,but i am still "small built" to put it nicely-i have not grown fatter or skinner or anything-only my face changed.] alot since, and so his sis invites me to their place to have lunch ,cuz we're sch mates.Anyways, during lunch, i catch him staring at me like,say,80% of the time and when i looked at him he like quickly turned away[but not quick enough!]
i kinda have this crush on him and is he looking at me cuz i've changed or does he like me[i hope] or what??
or please dont tell me i have a booger in my nose[yes i actually went to the bathroom to check]
so im really not sure,the only thing he said about me was that i'm"tiny"[ im 5"1]which doesn't sound like a good sign to me

I plan to move to Japan in a few years after I finish my nursing degree. I havent been there yet but I think I will check out the place before I jump into things. I studied Japanese all through primary school but I only know Hiragana and a few phrases. I dont know anyone over there. I want to work as either a nurse or an english teacher is there a way of making my dream a reality?

p.s I am a Half-Filipino Australian girl. Will they think it is weird that I look asian but dont understand them or their customs, worse still will they think I am rude? The last thing I want to do is offend someone.

If anyone has anything to say that will help me out or would just like to tell me past experiances in Japan I would really appreciate it.

can anybody tell me how much spending money we will need roughly for a 2week holiday in orlando. there is just myself and my partner going. i am booking park tickets before i go so would just like an idea of how much we'd need for food and drinks, transport etc. We are not fussy eaters so were not bothered for posh food, we dont drink that much so a few beers each evening will be fine.

I smoke and I go to pubs/restaurants and because of next years total ban on smoking in enclosed public places, I will give it my best shot at giving them up. They're far too expensive, they smell awful,and ultimately they kill you, so will this ban convince you to give them up or will you carry on regardless?

This summer I plan to go on a Carnival Cruise with four close friends, ranging in ages 17-28 (I'm 24). We're all over 21, except for my 17 year-old cousin. My boyfriend wants to quite for himself and me. He has been smoking for as long as he can remember and smokes more when stressed or bored. He took his doc's advice and switched brands and try to smoke less each day. It is NOT working.

I've recently been experiencing problems with 3 (the mobile network) basically they've referred my account to a debt collecting agency as they say i havent paid my bill, however when reviewing my bank statements the amount had actually gone out of my account a few weeks previous, they (3) have begun investigating where my money has gone, but say they need my bank details to investigate it properly.
however im slightly reluctant to as may/june time they took £120 out of my account without my permission as i told i was just setting up a direct debit!

Do they really need my bank details to investigate where my money has gone? I have a payment reference number!
