Throughout the history of the 20th century communism, socialism and facism have been identified as threats to a 'free' society, but I feel capitalism and the consumerist ideas that come hand in hand with caplitalism has led to social and moral degredation. Families have been taken apart as our socieities have become more highly mobile leading to isolation and lack of social cohesion. Crime is increasing, prisons are getting more and more overcrowded because of poverty, the increasing gap between the haves and have nots, and bad parenting. Wars are conducted so that head capitalist nations such as the US, UK, Japan etc can get contracts to make weapons to destroy 3rd world countries and rebuild them again, and rob them of their resources.
To put it simply Capitalism is a dehumanising political force as any other.

What should my next move be?

I've been into this guy for a really long time. These past few months we've been getting closer and closer. Two days ago we went to our school's Christmas Formal together and things went really awesome. We spent the whole time together and our slow dances got really hot and heavy. We went out afterwards with a few other couples and he took the scenic route on the way home. Last night he went to a party I couldn't go to and one of his friends started talking to me and said he (the guy I like) wanted me. They were coming up with a plan to sneak me out of my house. Even though they were probably drunk, does it mean something? Does any of this seem like he's into me? Needing some help! : ) THANKS!

why kiss under mistletoe? it's a parasitic plant!?

Where did the custom of kissing under the mistletoe come from? My BIO teacher (I'm in college) says it's a parasitic plant, that lives on other plants - kind of a weird thing to kiss under a parasite!! Any thoughts?

I need help ASAP!!!!!?

i went to our school dance the other nite and my boyfriend was there. He comes over and starts talkin to me. i told him that i wanted some time w/ my friend for a while, but he wouldn't leave me alone. Eventually he got mad cuz i wouldnt stop tellin him to give me a couple min. w/ my friend. then he walked away. i was gonna ask him if he wanted to dance and i find flirtin w/ a group of other girls!! every time i turned my back that nite he was flirtin w/ more girls! i told him i was pissed off at him and y and he didnt understand. then i told my friend to tell him that i was breaking up w/ him. he still didnt get y i was mad! now i dont no if we r still goin out or not and i really want to talk to him. i cant stop thinkin bout that nite and the more i think bout it the more i want to make sure that we r broken up for good! I dont no wat to do and any answers would be greatly appreciated.

How do I get credit?

I can't apply for a regular card because I have no credit and no cosigner, I can't apply for a student card because I am not a full-time student. Everything I have has been paid off in full by me, but while it was being paid off it was under my parents' names. I can't even get a cell phone plan because I have no credit! Help! Thanks.

HERE'S A GOOD ONE... I need advise before I lose my mind!?

SENARIO:Step-daughter is 22yrs old. Has had apartment with (non-working) boyfriend for the past year. Just got eviction notice, can't afford the apt. any longer. Has until the end of the month!
NOW: She calls my husband crying the blues of maxed credit cards, behind on rent, etc. Asks DAD to take out a loan of $9,000 to get her out of the hole (claims she will pay the loan.. besides a car loan he took out for her, she hasn't paid on in the past 3 months - .."right"). He was denied the loan because we took out a $25,000 home improvement loan + my car loan in May. SO,She announces she will move back in with dear ole dad (neither of them asked my thoughts on the matter). I have 2 daughters (1 in college,1 in the Navy). One of their rooms is used for storage, the other has her things packed in boxes. So, I am suppose to tell my daughter in college she no longer has a bedroom to come home to? I feel like moving out myself. I NEED SOME ADVISE PLEASE!

Need advice about male friend!!!?

Ok. I m married and last yr I had an affair that lasted for 8 mths with a child hood friends father. Well I told my husband and of course he was heart broken, And before anyone starts judging me I KNOW I DID WRONG!!!! We are now going to counsiling and he has forgiven me, And I did break this affair off as soon as I told him. Well now a male friend of ours {he knows this man and knows about my affair} keeps calling me when my husband is at work and wants me to come see him, He wants us to be more than friends as he put it FRIENDS W/ BENEFITS he knows what we are going through with counsiling. But keeps trying to get me to come visit him. He is not married anymore and has 2 grown kids. I have a husband and 3 young kids, so I have alot to lose, How do I get it across to him that I cant and dont want A FRIEND W/ BENEFITS I dont want to hurt him but my family means more to me. marriage cant handle another mistake, any advice appreciated, Please dont be mean.

Isn't it time we accepted prejudice as an unpleasant,but perfectly normal human trait?

It's endemic is it not?
And anyone who says they are not prejudiced in any way, against anyone, is a liar!
I have been the butt of prejudice and it hurt. But I lived to tell the tale.
'Sticks and Stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me" My dear old Mum used to say. And she was right.
So lets stop all this PC Crap and let it all hang-out......
They do in Thailand and it takes the sting out of it, believe me.
