Herodotus learnt geography and the act of travelling from Hecateus. This helped Herodotus to come out with his result on the history of the egyptians and also on the wars.Hence if Herodotus in the 19th century was named the "Father of history" what then will we call Hecateus? And will we say that Hecateus contributed to coming of history?

After the Seahawks game...then they beat Buffalo like a drum 40-6 or something...it looked like childs play...they were just having fun out there. The last time I saw the Bears play like this was '85.

In my view the Best team in the NFL (this week) but this season is CRAZY...to have the Colts get nearly knocked off my the Titians...hell anything is possible.....I mean I really wouldn't be all that surprised to see Detriot beat the Bears in a few weeks....NOTHING makes sense this year!

Whilst on my way home to huddersfield i saw a sign...
Sikh temple
Sikh lesiure centre

Now this annoyed me, why should they have their own lesiure centre? just because they are a different religion/ race?
Just imagine the backlash our country would have if there was a Christian lesuire centre or a English community lesiure centre!?

Also there is the MOBO awards (Music of black origin) every year....why should they have their own awards night? imagine if there was a Music of white origin awards night, we would get told we are rascist wouldnt we?!?!

It seems unfair to me that other religions and races come to our country and decide they dont want to be part of british life.

I am not rascist, i get on with many people of different religions and colours and backgrounds, i am just pointing out how hypocritical britain is!

Your thoughts?

My friend is really intelligent, but has a really low self-esteem. It's kind of depressing to be around her but I feel like if I stop being her friend because of her unoptimistic attitude, I'd lose a good friend. But than again, she drives everyone around her to the brink of their sanity for attention. She constantly nags teachers about her grades, thinking she failed her tests, and only to nag them to the point of insanity and most likely, she got an A or a B. The worst thing is if we go out somewhere and I suggested it, and she'd rather do something else, she'll act all dumb at the restaraunt, store, gathering, etc and people will literally flip out at her. The only time she's not like this is if she's in our group of friends. She says she doesn't know how to do something, such as use a computer, but than again, I'll find out she really does. She hates it when I'm not focusing on her when we're hanging out. I can't keep feeling sorry for someone who might just be playing games.

Althought some dictionaries include terror as a person who inspires fear , we generally think of it as the state of fear.My question is who decided to call for a war on terror. "The Decider"? Was it the media looking for a shorter headline, or a catcher one? Or something more intentional or devious? How can we fight a war an terror ? How can we win? What are we fightiing,?Does anyone remember when the phrase became common and why does all the media seem to use it?

Duncan the humble crab and Kate the Lobster Princess were madly, deeply and
passionately in love.

For months they enjoyed an idyllic relationship until one day Kate scuttled
over to Duncan in tears.

"We can't see each other anymore".... she sobbed.

"Why?" gasped Duncan.

"Daddy says that crabs are too common" she wailed. "He claims you are a mere
crab and a poor one at that, and that crabs are the lowest class of
crustacean and that no daughter of his will marry someone that can only walk
sideways"

Duncan was shattered, and scuttled away into the darkness to drink himself
into a filthy state of aquatic oblivion.

That night, the Great Lobster Ball was taking place. Lobsters came from far
and wide, dancing and merry making but the Lobster Princess refused to join
in, choosing instead to sit by her father's side, inconsolable.

Suddenly the door burst open, and Duncan the crab strode in.

The Lobsters all stopped their dancing, the Princess gasped and the King
rose from his throne. Slowly, painstakingly, Duncan the crab made his way
across the floor....... and all could see that he was walking, not
sideways..... but forwards... Yes FORWARDS, one claw after another!!

Step by step he made his approach towards the throne until he finally looked
King lobster in the eye.

There was a deadly hush..........................

For quite a while.......................

Finally the crab spoke.....................

"F**k I'm pissed!" he said.

Seeing how Adam & Eve had the innocence of children before acquiring the knowledge of good and evil, what God in their right mind would leave a tree of fruit within reach of them?

And while you're at it, would you mind telling me what a talking snake was doing in the Garden of Eden? I keep hearing these theories that the snake was actually Satan but if that's so then why did God then punish all snakes to crawl on their bellies hence forth?

This weekend I bought a TV off a friend and when I plugged it in nothing happened, it just wouldn't turn on. Then my TV which I have had for about 6 months stopped working, now all it does is buzzes at me, no matter where I plug it in. This has happened to 2 more TVs in this flat but I thought the the others were just because they were old. Is it likely to be a socket problem or something with the wiring perhaps. I am also worried because I plug my laptop into that socket too.
