8th Oct 2005 was the day when a hi-intensity quake of magnitude 7.2 jolted the northern areas of Pakistan incl the Islamabad Capital Territory, Azad Kashmir and Northern Areas. More than 55000 people died and about 2000 still remain unknown. This was rated by many as the worst disaster to strike Pakistan after independence and was the worst natural disaster exceeding in magnitude the Quetta quake that striked in 1930 before indep. & took the lives of around 30,000 ppl.

Albeit the Earthquake Relief and Rehabilitation Authority was formed shortly, it still has to go a long way to bring the affected ppl to their normal lives again- many still await their financial assist. from the govt and NGOs & many others still do not have a proper shelter..

No matter how much you dislike pakistan or its people due to any personal or other reason what do you - being as neutral as you can be- think of this tragedy and what steps you think can be taken to avoid such calamities in world as a whole?

I do but I cannot handle his use of that F*****g word, I used to work for a chef that swore a lot and I left because I was embaressed at him swearing in front of female staff. The ignorant git. He asn't as good a chef as Ramsey though and this doesn't mean I condone his swearing.

This light is independent of the traffic light for the other lanes, and is always green except when the traffic to the left has a green light and the oncoming traffic has a green light to turn left.

I have seen many people treat this red light as if it were a stop sign or flashing red; They come to a stop and then proceed after checking traffic. This makes some sense to me but I thought that when there is a changing traffic light specific to this lane, you are to stop and remain stopped until it turns green. Granted, I took the writing portion of the driver's test about 22 years ago, but for some reason it is emblazoned in my brain.

Am I right?

I love this guy more then anything he is my bestfriend and we have been on and off for a few years till drama happened, and i screwed up, ever since we have lost the bond we once had and i want it back. giving up really is not an option esp. since he is the only thing in my life worth fighting for. 1. Does anybody know the name of the movie about the ballerina (NOT save the last dance #1 or 2) who was bulemic and she like took pills and stuff and she went in for treatment cuz her mom found out, and her dance teacher wanted everone to be reallly really thin, and one day they had to get on the scale and stuff and yeah it was an old movie, and I really want to see it again cuz i saw it when i was like 9 or something and it was a great movie! Honestly, some of mine don't deserve my time. I keep a distance from them, and plan to never speak to them again. Their lifestyle and past choices make me sick.

My nieghbors that moved in about 2 years ago are here from Spain and own their own pinball machine store. I know they have lived in the states for about 10 years and seem to be very very wealthy.
The man that owns the store is the only one that works in the household, however he is managing to own 10 luxury cars, put two kids through college, and pay for plastic surgery for his wife.
Their store is open only two days a week, yet the man is never at home during the day, which arises suspicions of something illegally going on and that is where he gets all of his money.
Who do I need to contact about this? Homeland Security?
