it meant thaT he cleverly acted { I dont like the the snakes} iread this last year in lit class and loved the story in lit class it was that the mongoose got advice and cleverly hid himself

cunningly means slyly, trickily, artfully or smartly

consolation means the comfort you feel when consoled in times of disappointment
