I've recently moved from Carson, CA to pakistan. After finishing high school and some college, i've started my first year of medschool. The trouble with school here is that most of the teachers and local textbook authors promote rote memorization of facts instead of conceptual understanding i've come to rely on in the past 8yrs.

I was wondering, in ur experience, what's the best biochem book i should use to learn medical biochemistry as it is taught in the states. I already use Lippincott's Illustrated Review: it's a great book, but the trouble is that it's a "review" book. Which "TEXTBOOK" (like gyton and hall for physio...or gray's anat ) would u recommend to someone who hasn't taken organic chem, i.e.,ME!
Thanx for ur help; feedback from former/current medstudents will be most appreciated, nevertheless, this question is open to anyone who's taken biochem(and didn't fail it...lol) . Please remember, i'm looking for a MEDICAL biochem book...not a general biochem book.

my friend doesn't support me in sex.she never want to do sex.if i say to go for treatment she became panic .howmanytimes i've told about the result of sex but still she is not understanding.once however,we have gone to a doctor but when we start conversation she again became panic.i am fedup.she is completely illeterate about interest of sex.

Say is there was to a a huge hole from one side of the earth to the other, throught the middle...just say there was, and someone jumped down the hole, would they stop in the middle becuase of gravity not knowing which way to pull the person?

Would this person be stuck, or are there any fources that could bring the person to the other side or bring them back?


And also knowing that the is a miricle and that it can be done... jump ignore the logics of it all, just what if?

you know tomorrow is holiday in my country i am a highschool student and i have to study alot of things i really dunno what lesson to start so i want you to tell me what to do ?actually i want yu to make a timetable for me for today and tomorrow . thelessons that i should study in this 2 days are physics (it is nearly 50 pages) and solve (60 physics tests) solve my math questions(it is about 30 questions) and i should study biology(it is about 10 pages)and also tomorrow in the morning i have a class for only 2 hours and also tomorrow in the afternoon we will be in the party for three hours.so you see i have a lot to do in 2 days but i do no not have enough time and i have to say that it is 14 :5 now in my country .ok guys i am going to eat my lunch and i wait for your answeres and advises so please hurry up! thank you very much!

I'm 35 years old but look about 25 years old, sometimes I'm even asked for proof of age when I go to supermarkets to buy alcohol which I find hilarious....

I have never done anything to look younger.. I just use facial wash, cleanser and moisturiser at night.. that's it.. but I do feel a pressure to keep look young mostly in terms of my weight. I'm 5 ft 5 inches tall and weigh 8 stone 4 libs so am reasonably slim.. I used to believe that when I reached my 30's the pressure to be thin would diminish but it's just as bad as ever... people still judge you by what weight you are...

It's weird really that women are expected to look like 20 year olds even if they have kids.. and I have one child... will it get better when I reach my 40's????
