Recently, it was decided that Vande Mataram (India's national song) wud b sung in all educational institutes on the 7th of Sept. to commemorate it's 100th yr. of being written. But some Muslim clerics objected saying that it equalises God with country so it won't be sung by them since it was against the Islam tenets. The govt. later said that the singing is completely voluntary not compulsary.
The same song united us in our stuggle 4 independence n now they're refusing to sing it.I think the issue is being communalised n politicised. V r losing our national spirit. Yes, I am a Muslim n I don't find anything wrong in singing it. It is symbolic of our unity. How fair in not singing it?
