Abstract Expressionism
This is a type of art in which the artist expresses himself purely through the use of form and color. It is non-representational, or non-objective, art, which means that there are no actual objects represented so you can see whatever you like in it.
The only other alternative that I can think of is the ink-blots that Psychiatrists use to determine if we are mad or not!

I don't think you are speaking about a true art form. A term which refers to the mind's ability to complete a recognizable image of something from a number of seemingly random marks is "gestalt", a German word meaning "shape."
