I am a European non muslim male and I am happily married to a muslim woman. We had to get married in the UK, because her Islamic state forbids our union. Am I alone in thinking that Islamic law presents a double standard by not accepting our union?

Islam presents to the world an image of tolerance and acceptance...can anyone explain this contradiction in values?

If Islam wishes to stand for moral decency, it must also stand for individual freedom, lest it continue to represent the more repressive ideologies it is currently reknowned for.

Thx for the previous advices guys/gals but we hadn't had sex yet and i don't want to yet,i'm waiting for her for long as she want until she will be ready.At this point i'm to deep with my feelings into her because i really love her,and the only thing i do is kiss her,hug her,hold hands,etc.She knows that i'm a special guy and that there will be no other man that will love her so much.I told her that i love her so much,i expressed my feelings to her,i wrote her text messages on my mobile every night for more then a month but i stopped this Monday...i told her that she is everything for me,that i'll always love her no matter what i expressed some of my deepest feelings to her that i never ever said to one of my GF.Don't get me wrong but for me it isn't just about the looks,it's also what it's in her heart and mind,and she has a lot of good qualitys and some bad ones but nobody is perfect.At first she wanted to go to Italy,because she likes italian but then she said it's better Spain...

Hi, I've been talking to this girl for over a month now. I really like her, but don't know if she feels the same. Shes got a boyfriend so I don't think she does. When I flirt with her she flirts back. She laughs at all my jokes, even stupid ones. She thinks I'm good looking and a sweet guy and we get on like a house on fire. She sends me text messages late at night just to say good night and then some mornings to say good morning. I've been to see her a few times late at night and shes snuck out to see me. Apparently i'm the first person shes ever done that for! When i hang out with her she insists on hitting me in a playful way. But she has a boyfriend. I don't think shes truly happy with him otherwise she would not act how she does with me. I once said to her if she would like to watch me in the shower n she replied maybe. So i'm real confused as to whether she likes me or not. Help guys. thanks

about exporting timeline.. I just want to be sure that it will be exported as a vcd file on which i can play it on my vcd player. And i did it by exporting into mpeg encoder then to vcd type but when i opened my exported movie,it's an mpeg video type. the difference is when i inserted a real vcd movie,it's file is DAT type. And i guessed that the one I have exported in an Mpeg video type will not play in my vcd player because of file differences. What have I been missed? Or is there anything that i should do after exporting it? Or is there a possibility that it can be play on my vcd player even if its an mpeg video type? My adobe premiere is version 6.5

Specifically, what would be an Islamic view of the following words, which the Bible says were taught by Jesus:

"You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also." (Matthew 5:38-39)

Under the law 'Eye for eye...', if someone does something to a person, then that someone should have what they did done to them.

Under the above teaching, if someone has something bad done to them, they not only don't do it to the person in return, they take on the 'penalty' that would otherwise have been applied to that other person.

Do Muslims believe this is an appropriate attitude?

What, if anything, would those verses have to say about God's attitude towards us?
