I want to travel from King's Cross to Tower Hill, but apparently the end of the line is Liverpool Street or Aldgate. When the service reaches whichever of these stops, do I have to get off & wait on the platform for a train to resume the 'circle', or can I stay on as it travels in a circle as there is no such 'end of the line'?

I will be traveling into the UK and would like to know what kind of weapons women carry to protect themselves against possible assaults. I was going to purchase some mace, but realized that it is not legal in the UK. I will be flying in and going through customs, so it would need to be something that I could put in my check in and also go through customs with.

Thanks!

I'm searching for a 1-BR near that area (this is my first time to go to the UK). Please suggest nice areas near my work with affordable rents, so that I can specify my research better. I have a car, so a little distance wouldn't hurt. Thanks in advance guys!

Cheers :)

Ok, I have a job oppritunity to live in London, and people have often said London is expensive. Well, I was born and raised in Honolulu and just came from a three year stay at NYC (school)--and the rates in London don't seem that expensive to me:

i.e. 1BR apartment in London (disregard location right now)=

225GPB a week, so take that divide it by 2 -- it's equal to about 2USD-- and multipy it by 4 (weeks). Total is 450USD a month.
Is this right? I feel like a child writing this message... and if I am right, why are there so many people complaining about the expense in London? In NYC, your lucky to find a room under 500USD, which is shared by the way.

Cheers

I'm talking mainly about "The Gherkin", Canary Wharf and the BT Tower, but any answers about skyscrapers would be great!

I'm taking a trip to london and paris in late december/early january, what kind of clothes should i wear due to the weather?
I don't really hve any idea how the weather is in london and paris in late december/early january. is it REALLY snowy there? should i wear a puffy huge jacket or is a wool peacoat sufficent to keep me warm? should i purchase a pair of rain boots to wear while i'm waling around london and paris casue all i've got are my converses. or are rain boots too much and converses are enough to protect my feet from the weather. is this jacket, http://store.alloy.com/item.do?categoryID=856&itemID=46326&sizeFilter=&colorFilter=&brandFilter=# , good enough to keep me warm in london and paris or is it not thick enough? or should it be more big and warm like this: http://store.delias.com/item.do?categoryID=1384&itemID=46313&sizeFilter=&colorFilter=&brandFilter=

I think that's what they're called. How close to each other are they? Is it a walking distance or do I have to take a taxi or something?

I work in the square mile, but am looking to find an area to live outside london that is nice, but has great access to the city (30 minute train journey or less).

Ideally looking for an express train town that has few stops between it and London, but still has walking access to a Tescos, Sainsburys, etc. The further away from London the cheaper it is to buy a place (most of the time), so the further the better - just keep the commute low.

Cheers.

This will make no sense unless you live in or have visited London for any length of time. But feel free to answer every major city has its 'Camden'.
