Private Ensuite - Is where you will have your own private bathroom with the door to it in your room.

Shared Bathroom is where there will be a bathroom in the hallway and you will share it with other guests.

Double Bed - is just that a room with a double bed.
Single Bed - is just a room with a single bed in it.
Twin Bed - is a room with a double bed with a sofa bed that can hold another two people.

Hope this helps.

The first one means that the bathroom is inside the room and you don't share it with other people. The second means that the bathroom is outside of the bedroom and other people will be using it as well as you.

A single means there will be one single bed in the room, a twin means there are two single beds in the room and a double means that there is one double bed. Sometimes you can pay for a single room but find that when you go in the room there is either 2 single beds or a double, but you are still only being charged for one single bed.

ensuite means it comes with a private bathroom (including shower/tub, sink and toilet). The bedroom is completely private too. The double bed private with a shared bathroom means that only the bedroom is private and the bathroom will be nearby and used by other guests.

I stayed at a hostel and had to bunk up with strangers and use a bathroom down the halls.

Ensuite means you have a bathroom in your room, shared bathroom means you share with other hostel users.

DBPE - you have your own bathroom attached to your bedroom

DBSB - the bathroom is outside of the bedroom along the corridor & shared with other guests

Go for the former for obvious reasons

Don't do a hostel at all. I tried it at Martha's Vineyard and it was horrible. Most don't have A/C and you sleep in a room full of strangers. I was terrified the whole night I was going to have stuff stolen or weirdos would do weird things.
