I am appalled of the Tube service. Life-draining on business days and a true hell on weekends, when we are supposed to enjoy our well deserved leave. Entire lines suspended, escalators not working, delays, rubbish everywhere, horrible loudspeakers... treated as criminals with threatening posters about not touching out, and 98 or more of people comply!!, as the same poster states. Everything underlined by steady rising prices.
Any creative ideas on how to effectively protest against such incompetence?
"Don´t use it", to me, seems a weak option, this is a public service I need to use, and with the prepay schemes they have most of the money already.
Every day there is something on the papers about the tube, every day somebody in the office receives the "tube treatment". And, to me, it seems it will get worse before 2012.

my daughterand her husband, along with her family, went dowm to london to see a show and see a bit of the night life. well how let down was she. the day time she tells me was fantatic. got a bus that took them all over london, hop on/off. but night time was horrendous. they stayed off oxford street. they got there car broken into, in the hotel car park. ripped off in a fastfood takeaway, charged them £2 each cos they sat in to eat sandwhiches. all pubs, shut at 11pm. and the ones that played music charged £ 5 pound at the door. this is just a little bit of what she told me.. no wonder you guys hate the north.. it jealousy,, and to think we have had to fight for recoginition , to prove we are better than , and by what my daughter says , we are.. try a night out in the pool

We actually live in Harrogate, Yorkshire, but I'm starting a new job in London and will be moving with my family soon. Two kids 8 and 5. Can you suggest nice places: i.e., with train link (no more than 30-40min ideally to Masrylebone, Pic, Vict or Kings Cross), good schools, interesting coffe shops, restaurants and shopping district,... I've heard of places like Chalfon, Berkhampstead, Beconsfield. Any suggestions? Thank you so much.
