my daughterand her husband, along with her family, went dowm to london to see a show and see a bit of the night life. well how let down was she. the day time she tells me was fantatic. got a bus that took them all over london, hop on/off. but night time was horrendous. they stayed off oxford street. they got there car broken into, in the hotel car park. ripped off in a fastfood takeaway, charged them £2 each cos they sat in to eat sandwhiches. all pubs, shut at 11pm. and the ones that played music charged £ 5 pound at the door. this is just a little bit of what she told me.. no wonder you guys hate the north.. it jealousy,, and to think we have had to fight for recoginition , to prove we are better than , and by what my daughter says , we are.. try a night out in the pool

Another northerner having a go at London, if you don't like it stay out. The fact that you mention jealousy is laughable dream on if you think we are jealous of the grim north. Please spread the word we don't want any of you here anyway.Oh and sorry for using a few words of more than 2 syllables hope you understand them, i see your spelling is typical northern.

Lot's of people have nightmare introductions to new places. My sister was mugged at knife point in Liverpool and if you want me to judge all Liverpudlians by that then fine. Every city has a huge tourist area that locals avoid like the plague because they're overated and overpriced. I suggest anyone else out there planning on visiting London tries a little research before coming along.
You say 'you've got it all' - yep, we do; crime, unemployment, and overcrowding - like every major city in the world. The fact that you think that says a lot about your rose tinted view of a place you've never seen.
'Jealousy' is an emotive word and says more about and inferiority complex than snobbery. Many Southerners envy house prices, space, some bars, some clubs, and some social events in the 'north', but not enough to move there. The same as many visitors to London like to look but not move here, while others settle. Only fools believe the streets are paved with gold.

Wow, it's heated in here!! I'm from Birmingham and don't really like London - I find it crowded, pretentious, expensive and overrated. On the other hand, Birmingham is dirty and crowded! London has its good points, like the amount of gigs you can go to. But Birmingham's night life is better and easier to find (i.e. all in one place). It seems to be that if you're raised in the Midlands, you'll hate London and vice versa. Why can't we just appreciate parts of the North and the South without making generalisations?
To the person who asked the 'question' - you're bound to get people's backs up with this! You're entitled to your opinion, but some people love London. And to the people who are responding quite bitterly about not being jealous of the north, calm down!
Sorry, but the whole North/South divide thing causes so many arguments and fights at my University, and people need to get over it!

My mum was from Liverpool and she couldn't wait to leave. I have lived in London for 5 years, after previously living somewhere rural. I LOVE LONDON. It's a fantastic place to live. One of the best things about it is the fact that people here are so accepting of everyone and so non-judgemental. In other words not like you. I am so glad you don't like London, it means we will never be blighted by you coming here to live.

a million. needless to say Albert Dock section 2.Mathew highway to bypass to the sport of The Cavern - it seems much like the unique yet devoid of the sweaty partitions, overflowing loos and hazardous get entry to stairs - the unique no longer exists. 3. a Ferry bypass the Mersey to new Brighton. 4. bypass to the two cathedrals for a touch way of existence - and while you're there bypass down wish highway that links the two and bypass to the Philharmonic Pub - the marble loos in there are some thing to behold. 5. force for the duration of the Mersey Tunnel in case you have get entry to to a motor vehicle - or take a taxi - it replaced into the longest underwater tunnel while it replaced into geared up. 6. do no longer in basic terms stay in Liverpool - take a rain journey to Southport or the squirrel reserve in Freshfield (close to Formby) 7. have exciting

You are, I assume, having a laugh at the expense of us poor, culture starved Londoners. Of course nobodys ever heard of car crime in sunny Liverpool - all the natives are friendly & helpful and nobody ever wants to leave. (only the drug dealers can afford the bus fare out) See you soon?
