i have family coming from london to dublin by boat does anyone know if they need to have a passport they also have children coming with them will the children need a passport i know if there travelling my plane they need a passport but do they need one for the boat thank you for your help love smiley

Yes they do, as Eire is not part of the UK. It's a similar system to when you travel to France via ferry.
Passport control operates from the ferry terminal at Holyhead, just like an airport.

no, but if they do not have a British passport,or visa they need to go to the customs office
