Best Comedy musical - The Holy Grail
Best feel good musical - The Sound of Music or The Lion King
I found that the traditional Llyod Webber musicals were slow moving and overrated, maybe more for mature ladies (Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Miss Saigon).
I hear Chicago is excellent - they have UK celebrities in the title roles and the music and dance routines are class.
It is worth payiung what you can afford for good seats in the circle or first tier. If you go for higher than that e.g. second tier or upper, you are so far back from the stage that you may as well watch it on a DVD.
Better to have good seats in not your first choice than far back ones in a first choice one.....

I love Guys and Dolls, so I'd have to say that. Billy Elliott is apparently excellent too, along with the Sound of Music, Spamalot and many more... it's really just a matter of personal taste!

It all depends on what you enjoy and who their is in your group.
I think The Lion King is very good, lively, and is very loyal to the film.
Also The Blue Man group, its full of paint, dancing and music. Its a great night out.

The Lion King. Seen it twice with my two oldest nieces and absolutely loved it both times. Recommend getting seats good priced seats, ideally near aisles, so that you can be in amongst the action.
