Long wait at Waverley as train leaves without passengers

COMMUTERS and Christmas revellers faced lengthy delays at Edinburgh's Waverley Station when a train took off without its passengers.

Passengers were waiting in the station's foyer last night for platform information for the 9.33pm service from Edinburgh to Perth, which includes stops at Linlithgow, Falkirk Grahamston and Stirling. When an announcement went out that the train was to depart from platform 16, passengers started making their way through the barriers.

But before they got to the platform, the train took off with nobody on board.

First Scotrail's duty manager blamed the problem on Network Rail, which had given the signal to the train to move off. More than 50 passengers needed to wait in the station for an hour, while people travelling to Perth needed to change at Stirling and wait for an adjoining Perth service.

Hi everyone!
I've always wanted to travel to Amsterdam. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I can stay, stuff to see, etc...on a budget? Also, I am single, so I need places that would be safe for a traveller on her own.
Thanks!

Do you know that the United States has a visa Waiver Program for 27 countries (including the United Kingdom)? Citizens of these countries may visit the U.S for 90 days or less without a visa. I have seen incorrect information on this subject given several times and just want to share the correct info. See travel.state.gov/visa/temp/without/without_1990.html#countries

I wish to know whether cancellation of tickets by the passengers in Indian Railways is being updated or not. I am surprised to find that no change of my ticket status is seen on checking in the internet. As it is difficult to travel without reservation with old aged persons, at least two days in advance prior to the date of journey date the status of ticket may be known to the commuters for making the arrangements and to confirm the programme.

New Year's Eve 2007. Had a chance to hit an 80's party in Manhattan this New Year's Eve, thought about it anddd......I'd rather stay local this year.....short walk home, small chance of arrest or death. Nothing like New Hampshire.
