No, I don't have any interest in traveling into space, but it was my husband's dream. He is fascinated by all things connected to the mechanical engineering and technology of space travel. He would go tomorrow if the opportunity arose.

To whom? I'm assuming that you mean spreading the word of god to extraterrestrials. If we ever discover an intelligent species capable of communicating with us on a meaningful level, there are still a few issues to be overcome before we can invite them to a revival. First, we know nothing of their psychology and/or sociology. Perhaps they have no social need for religion. Perhaps they are incapable of understanding a concept like god, not because they're unintelligent, but simply because it doesn't fit into their world view. Or maybe the opposite is true; perhaps they understand and have religion...and they're extremely adverse to outsiders trying to change it. How do we know the first missionaries to an alien world won't inadvertently trigger an interstellar war? It's not such a far-fetched concept, given how people here on Earth respond to people trying to change their religious beliefs. I don't doubt that somebody will try it, if and when that day comes, but I just don't see it being a widespread success. For all of the differences between different groups of humans, at least we're all human. We wouldn't have that bridge with an alien species, and that's likely to complicate things a thousand fold.

why not? If I had money I didn't know what to do with, I'd try it.

Until it becomes alot less than 20 grand, there will always be something more important to spend that money on.
