How about driving to Mexico or Arizona or even Texas if you want more sun.... or the mountains nearby for snow? We think every little corner of the world has great possibilities for travel.... you just have to decide what interests you and make sure you'll be safe, then go for it. We try to convince people of this all the time: http://www.mousetourstravels.com/custom-tour.html See what other people have to say, but follow your own dreams for travel!

Happy travels... even if you don't travel the world... just remember that life is a journey... embrace and enjoy it!

Silverton, Colorado. Nearby skiing, local extreme skiing, ultra-lighting, colorful locals, good Jack Daniels, really really laid back, and the amazing San Juan mountains. Silverton shuts down to a bare snowy minimum in the winter, so, it's cheap to visit. Durango is easy drive south for outstanding hotel accommodations and restaurants. Indian reservation casino nearby. But, Silverton has some seriously profound naturalistic hidden surprises for people who can stand still and be quiet long enough to notice them.
