Why do you not like brighton? it's great!! and i know everyone thinks everyone here is gay but thats wrong.

Other ideas though:

Snowdownia in Wales, quite likely to snow this time of year, and is quite cheap and not too far.

The South Downs: ideal for walking and could also be snowy.

France: Ferries to france are very cheap and if you drive to the alpes or the Massif Central, you are very likely to get snow.

it is to bad, you did not mention your budget. I have travelled a lot, in the Caribbean. My favourite destination is Cuba, the cheapest time to go there is October, November, early December, forget Christmas as it is expensive there, hotels bump up their prices. We usually go away in January around the 16th, as this is a slow time for the hotel industry. Cuba is one of the safest countries in the Caribbean. The people are friendly, if you are thinking of what is economical and have a small budget, and you don't worry about the occasional bug, then go for a 2 star hotel, mind you I don't go to Cuba to stay in a hotel room, and we usually stay in a 3 to 4 star hotel. I am a Canadian, and it is cheaper for us to fly there then it is for you.
