Hi,

I am having difficulty deciding if I should buy a swiss pass for my coming trip Switzerland. Basically, I will be moving around to Zurich, Lucern, Bern & Interlaken for 7 days. I am not sure if its more economical to get a 8-day saver pass for USD $235.00. I think the main bulk of the transport cost would come from the inter-city train, lake cruises & trip to Jungfrau region & some other mountains.

Pls give me your advice. Thanks alot.

We're taking this from St. Moritz to Zermatt.

We are getting the impression that all they have is the "Panoramic viewing" type cars with windows that can't be opened. But the literature talks about standard type cars available in trains from Chur to Zermatt that I believe have windows that can be opened.

1. Maybe we can take the "Panoramic Viewing" type cars from St. Moritz to Chur. And then change cars in Chur so we can be in a standard type car where the windows can be opened?

2. Maybe we should just call Glacier Express somehow and ask them? But it seems like such a hassle and I wanted to try this Yahoo Answers system to see what happens.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I will be visiting Lucerne for the first time this summer with my daughter's choir, and a friend has told me to look for lace while in Switzerland. Can anyone tell me where in Lucerne would be a good place to look? We will be there for 4 days, however we already have alot of our time blocked out with the tour company we'll be with. I will have a couple of afternoons free while the students are in rehearsal. Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I will be taking my first hike through the Swiss Alps in September and want to make the most of it! I will be flying in to Zurich then heading to ??? to hike. From the reading that I have done so far I am leaning towards taking a train from Zurich to Grindelwald and hiking from there. I would like to spend 4 nights/5 days hiking. After the hiking is done I want to head back to Zurich to spend a day/night there before continuing on with the rest of my trip. Do you have any recommendations for 4nights/5 days hiking in Swizterland's Alps? Any "must see" or "must do" things while in the Alps or Zurich?

Thanks in advance!!

Politically wise, is Liechtenstein more related to Switzerland's neutral government, or Austria?

Is Liechtenstein also neutral?

I asked this question (awkwardly, I guess) in Languages and haven't had any helpful answers. There's a word my daughter's not allowed to say at school, something like "u-wer-eh". She says it means "really" or "very" but evidently it means something else as well. What? How bad is it? And sorry for my rudeness!

BTW, you can answer in Languages too if you want more points!
