Hi,

I am having difficulty deciding if I should buy a swiss pass for my coming trip Switzerland. Basically, I will be moving around to Zurich, Lucern, Bern & Interlaken for 7 days. I am not sure if its more economical to get a 8-day saver pass for USD $235.00. I think the main bulk of the transport cost would come from the inter-city train, lake cruises & trip to Jungfrau region & some other mountains.

Pls give me your advice. Thanks alot.

I don't know what the 8-day saver pass is, but I find the Swiss Pass is great because you don't have to worry about buying tickets for every trip, and if you change your mind (or the weather doesn't cooperate) you can do something else. It only gives you a discount, not a free ride, on some of the mountain trains, though, including Jungfrau and Pilatus. But I think it's a better discount than with any other offer. (Or at least as good.)
Swiss Pass also covers museums (except the big transport museum in Lucerne, though you do get a discount), which is cool.

Basically, no one I know who's ever got the Swiss Pass has regretted it.

Be warned, that train travel (without a pass) is very expensive in Switzerland. You need to find out how much each point to point ticket will cost you, so you can determine if a pass will save you money.
But the Swiss Pass does sound good value, especially if you are doing extra mountain trips etc.

I am not aware of the 8 day saver pass, but if it is cheaper than the swiss pass and has the same benefits, then by all means, go for it. You will surely like it here.

well go to www.sbb.ch/eng (Swiss train official site)
found out the cost of each individual trips.

there are no special prices for inter-city trip in Switzerland.

With what you want to do, it looks to me a good and fair price. (Switzertland is not cheap but worth it)
