I'd like to find another traveler's list of how much they budgeted for / spent on transportation, lodging in youth hostels, food, etc. in Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Bolivia.

Will be flying into Rio on 30 December, and flying out of Buenos Aires. Really not too sure of a suggested plan, please can anyone help.

1. Ideas in mind were to go through Brazil, Uruguay, and then Argentina or
2. Brazil, Peru, Bolivia then Argentina.

Ideally would like to try and make it to the Amazon rainforest if possible, but do understand the area is huge!!.

Also travelling on a budget, so ideally would like to try and avoid internal flights.

Hi, I have a Colombian boyfriend and he would like me to visit his country and maybe live there. It's very expensive to fly there but when I get the money I would love to visit. I am just not sure how safe it would be.

And do you think it would be ok for me to live there? I'm really pale with pale blonde hair, I think I will stick out like a sore thumb. I am not rich at all but I'm pretty middle class. I am a student. What do you think? He lives in the north of Bogota...

I have been invited to spend a month in Peru with a friend when her husband leaves for Iraq.....I have no idea where her family is from in the region though. Another friend told me about Lima, it sounds incredibly beautiful. I just want to hear other peoples input and experiences before I look up the touristy stuff. And Yes, I will absolutely do whatever I have to see Machu Pichu and that other place I can't quite remember the name of.

My wife and I are travelling to Peru. She is Peruvian and LOVES mate de coca (tea made from coca leaves.) Of course mate de coca is much, much, much less potent than cocaine. (It takes over 30 pounds of coca leaf to make one ounce of cocaine.) She says that we are allowed to bring some of it home with us. Is this true? How much? Where can I find out and/or confirm?

I tried to use a coupon that says
For travel within the 48 United States of from the 48 United States to Canade, Latin America or the Caribbean:

When I called continental airlines they told me Argentina doesn't count as latin america.
Although, when I checked on the internet latin america includes Argentina. So who is right? Are they trying to rip me off?
