It's a difficult decision, I'm sure you know that. I've been here 6 years and I have accomplished many things...I'm still young but I haven't finished my education....I think about moving back to Ecuador all the time. But how am I going to pay my student loan if the country doesn't offer the job opportunities that USA offers?
All my family is there and I go every year, but sometimes I feel once a year is not enough....

Are there any National Parks, sites, or interesting towns (that are relatively close to Banos) that might be of interest to me? I'm planning a trip there in a couple of weeks I was looking for some fun places to visit. Thank you!!!

PS: Please be as specific as possible. Thanks again.

Hello,
I'm planning a trip to Quito, Ecuador with my girlfriend. I keep reading more and more that it's not exactly a safe city and muggings/theft is quite common. I'm actually growing a bit concerned from what I've read so far. Are there any tips to stay safe and avoid getting mugged? Also, are there any areas in Quito that are dangerous and should be avoided at all cost? Thank you very much!!!

PS: I already bought a money pouch to keep my money under my shirt (to avoid my wallet getting stolen). I also know not to wear flashy clothing/jewelery.

My fiancé and I are taking a very long trip through central and south america and would love to see the galapagos. We know that you have to fly to the island and pay $100 to get into the reserve, but is there a cheap tour/hotel to do once we get there or can we stay at a hotel and walk around without tours?

My husband and are planning to take our two boys ages 2 & 4 to the Galapagos Islands for a week to 10 days (from Quito). Does anyone have any tips or advice on the best way to see the islands. Boat vs hotel with day trips? Are the boat tours safe for little guys? Any tour guide recommendations?
Thank you in advance!

I'm planning a trip to Banos Ecuador. I'm having a hard time finding a selection of hotels to choose from online. Is it even necessary/advisable, for me to book hotels online prior to my stay? Or are cheap hotels so readily available, that I don't even need to book ahead of time? If it should be booked ahead of time, does anyone have any cheap hotel recommendations or at least know of good online webpages that have a good selection of hotels? Your help is greatly appreciated!!!

I am going on a trip to Ecuador and beforehand I rented "Globe Trekker: Ecuador". In the movie, the host rides on the top of the train with the wind rushing past her hair. I don't remember exactly where she did this but it looks like so much fun! Are there any trains (that you can ride on top of) that leave Quito to a close destination? If so, can you please tell me more about it? Thanks again!!!

I'm thinking of going to Ecuador but I only know a bit of Spanish (mostly, from what I remember from High School). Will I have a difficult time getting by or do many people in Ecuador (especially Quito) speak English? Thanks!
