i have asked about this before and am now amending the trip to this itinerary but am still unsure:

flying to verona, brescia for a 13 night trip with my teenage daughter. we leave on the 16th of may

2 nights staying in verona, daytrip to lake garda.
3 nights in venice
then, am not sure if we should spend 3 nights in Florence and take day trips to siena, San Gimignano, montepulciano, chianti maybe etc.

and then 2 nights in lucca
3 nights in rapallo.

but am not sure if we should stay the 4 nights in Florence, and one night in lucca or 2 nights in lucca and 3 nights in Florence??

I was in Italy last month, and heard a joke version of the above song, and I would like to find it online... it changed the original lyrics to something about chicken flu or something like that.

Recently the City of Rome, Italy held the exhibit "Rome - Memeories of the Underground. The exhibition displayed artifacts dating from antiquity to the Renaissance that that had been unearthed in Rome during the last 26 years (1980-2006).

Has anyone attended this exhibit? Do you have a exhibition catalogue?

Thank you

We will be going for vacation in June. I've traveled quite a bit and know that it is good to know some of the little secrets that can help you get around a little better without getting ripped off. Is it crazy expensive? We have a place to stay but other then that? Thanks a lot.

I will be in Italy - Venice mid December for 3-4days and am thinking of making a 1 - 2 day sidetrip to the Dolomites, for some snowshoeing (objective: experience some snow!). So far i can only find 1-day trips to Dolomites (to towns/valleys) online but cant find any 1 - 2 days snoeshow hike trip/tour (ie. trekking in the mountains). Anyone can advise how possible is it to do something like this?!! (just a 1-day tour would be ideal). Are there any tours catering to this or do i have to go on my own?

My fiance and I will be travelling to Italy for our Honeymoon in June. We will be travelling from Rome to Florence, Florence to Venice, Venice to Sorrento and Sorrento to Rome, all on different days. We have looked into getting a EuroRail supersaver pass that entitles us to 3 days of unlimited travel, also purchasing an extra day. Altogether this will run about $450. Is this the best, most cost effective way to travel? Their website is difficult to understand, do we still need to pay extra for tickets? How do we know if we need reservations?

Qui con me perche sara

Trifone Berlen and 1 or 2 of his brothers came to the U.S. over 80 years ago and were never in touch with Italy again. He and his wife, Beatrice Castellano, are both deceased now, but their children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren want to know if they have any living relatives in Italy. Thank you! Ciao!

I'm going on a Mediterranean cruise in the summer of '08 and one of the stops is in Florence. I was incredibly excited until I realized our one day in Florence is on a Monday when the main museums are closed. I still have a lot of time to look into this (but I'm incredibly excited now, lol). So what has everyone who has been there enjoyed seeing and doing that is going to be open for me :)

Many of the other places on the cruise are ones I have already been to such as Rome and Napoli, so I'm really looking forward to Florence the most!

Thanks for any suggestions you all have :) I'd much rather tour on my own than do something run by the cruise ship.

I am really interested in Italian Renaissance art which is why the museums being closed is such a disappointment for me. So if there are any less popular musuems (open on Mondays!) that you know of, that would be really great.
