I'm a qualified accountant from Pakistan and presently looking for a job in Ireland thru headhunters. Although there are a lot of opportunities available in this beautiful country, I need answers to a few questions before finalising anything. Pls help...

1. I'm targetting annual salary of euros 90k-100k. Would it be enough to live a reasonably good life there with a wife and a school going son. I would prefer Dublin or Galway to work.

2. I need an idea of average monthly expenditure for our family (2+1). Can anyone provide the following estimates.
- Accomodation (rent/mortgage whichever is less)
- Utilities
- grocery etc.
- child education
- any other major expenditure I have missed

3. I would target monthly saving of euros 2K. would it be realistic?

4. I am a highly educated person with no religious biasness. Would I face any social problems (being a Pakistani)? I have head that Irish people are very warm and friendly.

5. Any other advice anybody wana give?

We're Americans going on vacation in Ireland. We heard we should see Giant's Causeway, but most of the locations we plan to visit are in Southern Ireland. So we're trying to figure out what else is in northern Ireland to make the trip to Bushmills worth it. We're mostly interested in experiencing the culture and sightseeing. Thank you in advance.

I dont mean to speak for everyone of irish descent [i'm part irish] but is this a part of irish character? I've noticed rebellion as a strong irish historical trait.

how would you like to be entertained? my cousin from the states is coming to stay with me for xmas and loves all things irish!! but the only thing i can think of to do with her is take her to the pub for a bit of craic! is that too boring, or is it simply showing her what it means to be irish? what would you like to see if you were coming here for the first time?

Hi

I'm moving to Galway on 5th November and wondered if anyone from here would be there after that date?

Would be great to meet up, have a drink etc. Am trying to sort something out with another member from here on 10th November as he is down from Belfast.

Any takers?
Kate
