I always thought it would be great to travel on cruises. Sounds so exciting. My gf and I both love travelling. I mentioned that we should go on a cruise sometime and she was like - "No people disappear from cruises a lot and thrown off the boat etc"...Is this true and should she be really worried?

It just happened to me off Carnival Cruise yesterday. I went to get all 5 of me and my wife's luggage and only recovered 4. The one missing had all our pictures we took, plus some souvenir t-shirts, not to mention some of my clothes. Vacation ruined!

Starting to plan for a 3 to 7 day cruise - without the kids. This will be a first for both of us. Hoping to get a feel for cruising to later plan a Disney cruise with kids.

Can anyone offer opinions on which cruise line to look at for a first time trip? Really appreciate first-hand knowledge.

Also - any advice on Gulf cruises vs. Western, Eastern, or Southern Carribean? Best ports to hit? any to stay away from??

Thanks!!

I am going to the Eastern Caribbean next year, and have never been on a Conquest class ship before. I have been told that you can never go back to a smaller ship after this. Is this true?

I am going on a cruise in December to the Caribbean (Royal caribbean) and I need to know how much will it cost for food, shopping, and transportation in say, Mexico, Haiti, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Jamaica and those little islands like Antigua, St. Maarten, the Caymans and the Virgin Islands. Can someone break it down for me piece-by-piece, by island or region? I am on a budget here and need to know if I can just eat on the cruise ship and not eat when I arrive on the islands.

I'm going on a cruise in two weeks, anyone know of any cool places/bars/clubs/attractions to check out? I'll be stopping at Grand Bahama Island, Great Stirrup Cay, and Nassau. I know there's all kinds of excursions to go on, I'm just wondering if there was any where other than those to look for. Thanks!
