The French Quarter is walkable. If you are in the Army, you will be in plenty of shape to walk it. So park and walk all around (unless your hotel is inside the Quarter, of course)

MORNING/AFTERNOON:
Café du Monde (everyone does this – beignets are a right of passage for visitors)

French Market (behind Café du Monde)
Jackson Square, Jackson Brewery

The aquarium is nice if you like aquariums.

NIGHT:
Just walk through the French Quarter (stay with the crowds). Something will entertain you.
Popular nightspots:
>Tipitina’s

>Pat O'Brien’s

>House of Blues

Harrah’s Casino if you like to place a few bets.

If you like history:
National World War II Museum

Too many good restaurants too list. Just ask the locals and they will point the way to whatever is in your price range.

Those are just a few popular places.

Go to the Aquarium of the Americas and IMAX. Then the Audobon Zoo, Riverwalk, the French Market. Top it off with the French Quarter and Bourbon Street.
