I was in NYC at Christmas time and I saw a lot of Japanese tourists. I also saw a lot of Middle Eastern tourists. I was wondering when Japan's vacation season is--e.g., Americans usually take vacations in the summer--and if anyone can tell me when Middle Eastern people take their vacations that will also be appreciated? Thank you.

I would like to live and work in Japan for six months to a year. I have applied at an organization that handles teaching english, but I was also wondering if there are any other opportunities for people from the US? I am also interested in taking Japanese at a school there and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations? I am interested in the area around Yokosuka, as I have been there twice already and like that area and south. Any suggestions about getting an apartment would be an added bonus!

I've been to japan only once and for a brief period of time. Do any people who have spent a considerable amount of time there or are from there know if there are good vegetarian options for food. I'm pretty sure there are but I'm looking for somthing a tad specific. Like is champuru ever vegetarian?

A japanese guy is courting me. But my friends were telling me that Japanese are generally polygamous. Japanese culture, they say, allows concubines. They can have only one wife, but they can maintain other women and even have them stay in their house. Is this true?

I plan on competing in Mixed Martial Arts in Japan but I need to be available all day to train and compete in amateur competition with the Shooto organization. So, work visa is out of the question and japanese language classes (pre college visa) would cut down on my training time. I have to compete in amateur regionals to prove myself and it might take 6months to a year to get promoted to pro. I have around $180k saved up from personal earnings from my small business in the US. Would that help my case?

Just returned from 2 weeks in Tokyo and loved it. One of my favourite things was the Karaoke bars on every corner and the friendliness of the people?
