I can answer your question about the Turkish and Japanese languages:

The Japanese language currently has disputed origins. It is grammatically similar to the Altaic language family, which includes Korean, Mongolian, and Turkish. It surprises many people to know that Japanese and Turkish DO share a lot of similarities. They are SOV (subject-object-verb) languages, so the grammar is quite similar. It is much easier for Turkish speakers to learn Japanese than French, because Japanese is structured the same.

The other theory of the origins of the Japanese language is that it is a Polynesian language. The grammar is not at all the same, but many of the sounds and words are very close.

many nationalities have similar believes, not only Japanese and Turkish. We, russians, have that believe not to take the shoes off when enter the house, too! (as well as many other ones) :)
