The official climbing season begins July 1st and ends August 27th. June is the rainy season so it's not a good time to climb. It's quite crowded during those two months.

A number of people climb Fuji-san New Year's Eve in order to see the first sunrise of the new year.

Some people climb it out of season but everything is closed up there. A few years ago a Canadian guy died from exposure climbing it.

But Climbing Season is June, July and August. and even then there will still be snow at the top. So if you go in the early or very late times, dress in layers.

Hope that helps.

I believe that you can technically climb the mountain anytime you want, year-round. However, the weather is best for climbing during the late summer months, July and August. Even during these months, though, once you get near the summit it can be very cold and very windy, and snow is still possible. Trust me! I climbed it last August, and it was a hot summer day where we began at station 5, but once we got above the clouds it quickly turned frigid! So be sure to bring warm clothes with you in a backpack. Another important thing to consider: the stations where you can buy food and beverages and use the bathroom are only open during July and August. Prices here can be kind of expensive, especially as you near the summit, so you might think about bringing food and drinks along with you. You also want to be sure that you're in good physical condition. The climb can be tough if you're not in shape, it's not like just hiking along a country trail!
