miserable. How do people live there when it is always so muggy and hot? And where would you suggest to stay that is peaceful and inexpensive?

ok, any first hand advice is much appreciated i hate reading stuff in the brochures and so on...
-what are the best places for shopping?
-how are the prices on average?
-a must see spots that i cant find out abt searching abt indonesia online?
-what should i not forget before i go there?

-crazy fun things to do while im not surfing?

My fiance and I are getting married at the end of December and are thinking about a honeymoon in Bali during the 1st week of January. We have heard it is the rainiest month. Is the rain very heavy monsoon like, all day rain? Or is it just a few hours out of the day? Has anyone been during this time? Would you recommend fo a honeymoon? Do most of the watersports shut down during this month because of the rain?

I need someone with first hand experience to enlighten me on rainfall for a trip to Bali and Java from last week of Oct to end of first week in Nov. I know its the begining of the rainy season but.
1. Is it alot?
