I'd like to get involved in the olypics for Great Britain - i train everyday (im 16) and would like to know what i have to do to make it to the 2012 olypics - im very dedicated :)
Im not sure what event i'd like to participate in - but im a pretty good runner....

I know Matt Shirvington (AUS) who has a personal record of 10.03 sec (1998) and Armin Hary (GER) who ran 10,0 in 1960 (time taken manually). To me, Armin Hary is the best ever. But has anyone been faster yet?

The reason I am asking for opinions on this is that it came up in a disscussion recently and one of the people(A fat little man who barely has enough lung capacity to bend over to pick up something he dropped on the floor) laughed and said the following was the "stupidest thing I ever heard of". The 2008 Olmpics are being held in Beijing, stunt cheerleading has been chosen as a "trial" competition. My son and four other guys and three girls who all work for UCA (Universal Cheerleaders Association) are going to leave in Sept. to start teaching the Chinese. Anyway, my son and his wife both do this professionally for a living and make more money than the nice little fat man does at his boring 9-5 job, so I don't care that he thinks what they do is stupid. I would like to know if who thinks as a competition it could have a place in the olympics at some point in time.

In the late 70s and most of the 80s british runners dominated middle distance running and these athletes mentioned was the most successful.i was a massive seb coe fan and ive never seen anyone train as hard has he did,and his dedication to hard work payed off with olympic gold and silver medals.

i mean come on! the spanish people can have spanish songs up all over MTV what about us asains??? we cant go out and put asian songs and have it go on mtv or even the radio. Listen to shakira and some other people.....their songs have spanish all over! what about us asains!

Im 11 and yes im a girl, i did cheerleading and now im switching back to gymnastics so i can win a gold medal but i do have some little expericance with gymnastics i love beam im not scared to do anything on it and i love floor too those are my favorites but can u freshen me up on stuff a bit? i think they should move me up levels i almost have my round-off bhs on the ground and my back tuck on the trampoline and i can do the splits pretty well and im kinda like a daredevil now lol so what do you think level i should be on?

if u use steroids i heard that it will make your sack shrink. this is due to your bodies lessened dependance on making its own testosterone due to the "juice" u are taking.

There are 5 Olympic rings. Each one is supposed to stand for one continent.
All the other (inhabited) continents get their own Olympic ring:
Africa - black
Europe - Green
Oceana - Blue
Asia - Yellow

North America and South America are two separate continents (some people like to say they are the same continent, which is ridiculous. just look at a map. they are obviously two separate landmasses. how europe and asia, on the other hand, get counted as two separate continents, is beyond me). Why should they have to share an Olympic ring (Red).
I think they should add a 6th Olympic ring so that each continent has their own. That would be much more fair.
